Services # Cisco Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul Services ## When Wireless Has to Behave Like a Wire Cisco Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul (CURWB) is for networks where wireless must be deterministic, resilient and always on, with no roaming drops. It suits automation, mobility and safety-critical applications where Wi-Fi alone isn't enough, at a much lower price point than private 5G. CURWB runs in the standard 5 GHz band but uses make-before-break roaming. Wi-Fi disconnects before it reconnects, which can take 100 milliseconds to a few seconds: too long for many industrial applications. Some Cisco access points run CURWB and Wi-Fi at the same time, so critical devices get CURWB while everyday devices use Wi-Fi. Key Capabilities ## What CURWB Delivers ### Ultra-Low Latency Data delivered with minimal disruption and very fast response times. ### Near-Zero Packet Loss As close to fibre-like connectivity as you can get over wireless. ### Seamless Roaming at Speed Make-before-break roaming for moving assets, even high-speed trains. ### Redundant Paths High availability for safety-critical systems. ### Where Fibre Can't Go Connect remote or fixed assets where fibre is unavailable or too costly, faster and cheaper to install. ### CURWB and Wi-Fi Together Run both on supported Cisco access points at the same time. ## Common Use Cases Industrial automation AGVs, AMRs, cobots and PLC connectivity Ports and logistics Cranes, container terminals and vehicle automation Mining Autonomous vehicles and tele-remote operations Rail and transport Train-to-trackside communications Smart cities and campuses Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint backhaul How IPTel Helps ## Talk to Us About CURWB ### Assess Understand your assets, applications and latency needs. ### Design RF design for moving assets and changing environments such as ports and open-cut mines. ### Deploy and Support Installation, commissioning and ongoing support, with Splunk monitoring available. ## Related - [Industrial IoT →](https://iptel.com.au/technologies/industrial-iot?hsLang=en-au) - [Mining →](https://iptel.com.au/industries/mines?hsLang=en-au) - [Splunk →](https://iptel.com.au/services/splunk?hsLang=en-au) ### Buying Cisco URWB Radios?
