Cisco Network Upgrades Australia
Upgrade Your Cisco Network Without the Disruption
Ageing switches, end-of-life wireless controllers and access points that can't keep up are some of the most common reasons organisations call us. An upgrade is the chance to fix more than the hardware: security, visibility, Wi-Fi performance and the running cost of the network.
IPTel is a Cisco Preferred Partner. Our engineers plan, stage and cut over Cisco networks for enterprise, government, healthcare and education sites across Australia, usually out of hours and with a tested rollback plan.

What We Upgrade
Cisco Upgrades We Deliver
Campus and Access Switching
Replace end-of-life switches with Catalyst 9000 or Meraki, with PoE budgets sized for today's APs and IoT.
Learn more →Wi-Fi and Wireless Controllers
Move to current Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 APs and Catalyst 9800 or Meraki cloud management, surveyed first.
Learn more →SD-WAN and Branch
Replace legacy routers and MPLS links with Cisco SD-WAN or Meraki SD-WAN.
Learn more →Security and Access Control
Add Cisco ISE, segmentation and secure access as part of the refresh rather than afterwards.

Four Steps to a Smooth Cisco Upgrade
Step 1
Assess
We audit the current network: hardware, software versions, end-of-life dates, configuration, PoE draw and pain points, and agree what the upgrade must achieve.
Step 2
Design
A design and bill of materials sized for the next five to seven years, including a Wi-Fi survey where access points are changing and options for refurbished or financed equipment.
Step 3
Stage and Cut Over
Equipment is staged and configured before it reaches site, then cut over in planned windows with a tested rollback plan.
Step 4
Validate and Support
We test every site after cutover, hand over as-built documentation and can manage the network for you afterwards.
Cisco Network Upgrades: FAQs
How Do I Know If My Cisco Network Needs Upgrading?
Common signs are equipment past Cisco end-of-sale or end-of-support, software that can no longer be patched, switches without enough PoE for new access points, and Wi-Fi that can't handle today's devices. An assessment lists each device's lifecycle dates so you can plan.
Can a Network Upgrade Be Done Without Downtime?
Most upgrades are done in planned out-of-hours windows. Equipment is staged and configured beforehand, so the cutover is mainly physical work, and each change has a rollback plan. Some sites can be moved with almost no interruption.
Should We Move to Catalyst or Meraki?
It depends on your team and sites. Meraki suits organisations that want simple cloud management across many sites; Catalyst with Catalyst Center suits larger campuses that need deeper control. We can design either, or a mix.
Are There Options to Reduce the Upfront Cost?
Yes. Cisco Capital financing can spread payments, and Cisco certified refurbished equipment can lower cost and e-waste. See our eco-friendly network refresh service for details.
Do You Deliver Upgrades Outside Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne?
Yes. IPTel delivers Cisco upgrades across Australia, including regional and remote sites, with engineers onsite where needed and remote staging and configuration.
